How live call translation works with Akume
Invite the translator
Paste your Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams link. Akume Translator joins the call like any guest: let it in from the lobby.
Speak your language
Talk the way you always do. Akume recognizes who is speaking which language, with no buttons to press.
They hear theirs
The translation is spoken right in the call, under a second after each phrase, with subtitles. The other side installs nothing.
Works in Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams
On a computer or a phone. The translator joins from the meeting link, so nobody installs an app, an extension or an add-in. Guests can also follow on a listener link in the browser, with subtitles or in another language. Phone calls, WhatsApp and in-person conversations are not supported.

Questions about live translation for calls
What is Akume?
Akume is a real-time voice translator for video calls. It joins your Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams meeting and translates what people say out loud, in both directions, with subtitles.
Which platforms does it work with?
Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, on a computer or a phone. Paste the meeting link and the translator joins. Phone calls, WhatsApp and in-person conversations are not supported.
Which languages are supported?
65 languages and regional variants, more than 1000 language pairs. One call can use 2 to 10 languages, and Akume detects who is speaking which.
How fast is the translation?
Our engine starts the translation under a second after the end of each phrase, so the conversation keeps its pace. Your connection can add a little to that.
Is my call recorded?
The audio is translated live and not kept after the call. Subtitles stay in your account, and we delete them on request. On Zoom the host is asked to allow recording, because that is how the translator hears the call; the recording is still not kept.
Does the other side need to install anything?
No. Akume Translator joins like any guest, and everyone hears the translation right in the call.
Is there a free demo?
Yes. You can talk to Akume in your browser for about a minute, with no account, and hear how the translation sounds before you use it in your calls.
